It is easy to become dismayed by many of the draconian actions of the Trump Administration. Massive firings of civil servants, distancing ourselves from key allies, as well as siding with Russia over Ukraine in their fight for sovereignty makes it understandable why one might lose hope. Realistically, these challenges today will not be resolved exclusively by our elected officials in D.C. Honestly, for too long we have collectively taken for granted that our elected officials, despite policy differences, would act in good faith with our constitution. Sadly, those days appear increasingly as a distant memory, and to some degree it is our own collective fault for being passive and having blind-faith in those elected officials. However, it’s not too late for us … as citizens … to use what power we still have to speak up and hold our elected officials accountable for their actions. However, very few of us have time available in our daily lives to figure how to start to make a difference. Understandably, it can feel overwhelming.
