Trump Firings & Proposed Tax Cuts

Facts… they are stubborn! Our population has grown from 250 million to 350 million in the past 30 years, however the size of our federal workforce has remained constant during this same time frame. Simply stated, the same number of civil servants today are providing more services to more people than ever before. Relatedly, in 2024, 4.3% of the federal budget was compensation for our federal workforce. One of the most recent false narratives of the Trump Administration has been that the recent firings have occurred to solve our national debt in order to save Social Security and Medicaid. Even if that were true, and even if the entire federal workforce was fired, this 4.3% (equal to $293 Billion annually) wouldn’t even pay the annual interest on our national debt ($658 billion). Two additional actions by this administration add further insult to injury. The first is the remaining federal employees are being vetted for their “loyalty” to President Trump, not the constitution, which appears intended to result in the only civil servants left standing will be those that pledge fealty to the administration. Second, the proposed massive tax cuts will primarily benefit the most affluent 1% while further ballooning our national debt while doing nothing to lower the cost of living for most of us (the remaining 99%). The time to speak up and get involved is now if any of the above concerns you. Please become a part of the solution, rather than being a part of the problem.
