So much for decreasing inflation and “making America more affordable again on day-one”. While it is difficult to understand complex economics, one thing that is easy to understand is when you go to the grocery store to buy bread, pay your utility bill, or to buy a big-ticket item like a car, that the sticker price is NOT going down. To the contrary… they are going up and are projected to go up even further unless there is some type of course correction. Relatedly, for those of us in the 99% that are fortunate enough to have a 401K, we are literally bleeding money out of those investments due to the volatility in the markets created by President Trump. While there are many things this President has done that is harming the economy, the meat axe approach to firings in tandem with the insane broad-based tariffs are at the top of the list increasing the chances of a major recession … or as President Trump and his oligarch buddies refer to it, “minor short-term fluctuations … pain”. What is being experienced are NOT minor fluctuations and the pain we feel is all too real. This is what happens when we cede too much power to any-one political party whose figurehead has filed for bankruptcy six times and chooses to sell cars on the front lawn of the White House. Keep this all in mind for the midterm elections in 2026, which can not come soon enough!
