Here’s the mantra for anyone still supportive of this Republican Congress and administration. Don’t worry about rising prices, shrinking job markets, or decreasing affordability for every day goods including the housing market for first time home buyers… things will be fine down the road. Don’t worry about health care for those that struggle to make ends meet or have a health impairment that are reliant on Medicaid, as Senator Ernst said, “we are all going to die someday”. Don’t worry about the lack of integrity in the DOJ, or the FCC for that matter, only those who voice a differing perspective need to worry. Don’t worry about the world leadership void created by our President, China is happy to occupy that space. Also, don’t fret over the end of “DEI” initiatives, according to the President “slavery wasn’t all bad” and his policies suggest that women need to know their place in his world-view. In other words, everyone should just keep their head down, their mouths shut, and be grateful because, as our President said at the United Nations, “Trump is always right”.
So much for America being a beacon of light for the world to see. If you disagree with what is occurring these days it is necessary to speak up, mobilize, and get active. Being passive does nothing but condone these actions. As Reverend King once said, “the ultimate tragedy is not the oppression and cruelty by the bad people but the silence over that by the good people”.
