In case you missed it, it’s worth checking out the engaging interview with Kamala Harris on the CBS program 60 Minutes. She gave thoughtful answers to tough questions about the economy, immigration, taxes, and other issues. She inspired confidence and seemed very “presidential.”
It’s too bad that we won’t have another chance to see the two candidates debate before the Nov. 5 election. The first debate highlighted their very different personalities and approaches to key issues. Unfortunately, Donald Trump backed out of the second debate. He also declined to appear on 60 Minutes, which would have
featured interviews with both candidates.
At a time when we face big challenges, it’s important to hear from both candidates about how they’ll address these issues. Harris has made herself available for those conversations. Trump, on the other hand, has passed on two prime opportunities to show that he can answer tough questions in an unscripted environment.
With so much at stake, everyone should watch the excellent 60 Minutes interview with Kamala Harris. We all deserve to know where the candidates stand and to judge for ourselves which of them should lead us over the next four years.
