Who We Are
The Union County Democratic Committee (UCDC) is a group of volunteers of all ages and backgrounds. Our priority is electing people who will work hard to improve the lives of everyday people.
We support the guidelines set by the state and national Democratic committees, and use our local expertise to advance the shared values and visions of people in Union County.
We are committed to serving the best interests of all of the people of Union County, the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, and our nation.

What We Do
Our primary purpose is to get Democrats elected—from recruiting candidates and helping them get on the ballot all the way through voter registration and voter turnout.
Through community service and other ways we interact with constituents, the UCDC also works to advance the values expressed by the national and state Democratic parties, including:
- Protecting women’s rights
- Improving health care for all
- Promoting inclusivity and equality
- Protecting voting rights and processes
- Caring for the environment
- Fighting for common sense gun laws
- Supporting veterans and military families
- Raising wages to help close the wealth gap
This list is not all-inclusive, but represents some of the basic rights we believe should be guaranteed to all Americans.
How To Get Involved
The UCDC couldn’t do this work in our small, rural county without our dedicated volunteers.
In addition to canvassing and phone banking for democratic candidates on the ballot, there are many opportunities to get involved—including but not limited to:
- Registering voters
- Tabling at local festivals to engage with the community
- Community service opportunities with nonprofits and organizations like United Way, DIG Furniture Bank, Community Harvest, Country Comfort Assisted Living, and more

We invite all Democrats* interested in learning more to attend our monthly meetings, typically held at 7 p.m. on the 3rd Monday of each month at the East Buffalo Township Building, 589 Fairground Road, Lewisburg.
*Note: All public meetings at all levels of the Democratic Party are open to all registered Democrats, regardless of race, color, creed, gender, national origin, age, ethnic identity, sexual orientation or economic status.
No test of membership in, nor any oaths of loyalty to, the Democratic Party of Pennsylvania shall be required or used that have the effect of requiring prospective or currently registered Democrats to acquiesce in, condone, or support discrimination on the grounds of race, color, creed, gender, national origin, age, ethnic identity, sexual orientation, or economic status.
The Democratic Party, on all levels, shall support the broadest possible voter registration without discrimination on any grounds.
