A number of
folks who participate regularly in "
Issues & Eggs" have requested
that we have a discussion session with topics that are offered by attendees,
rather than by a specific speaker.
That sounds like a good idea to me! Please join
us for a free form
"Issues & Eggs" this Saturday at Brookpark
Station Cafe in Lewisburg. We'll talk about whatever is on your mind.
See you there!
Issues & Eggs events slated for the next few
months include:
October 27 – A final opportunity to meet the
candidates. In particular, we’ll talk about making sure people get out to
vote on election day.
November 17 – Health care in the Central Region
of Pennsylvania. Is there a lack of adequate health care for the uninsured
and underinsured in our area? How do we make sure on both local and
state levels that needs are being met?
December 15 – A discussion on transportation
issues. As the cost of fuel continues to rise and the timeline for
the Susquehanna Valley Bypass is repeatedly delayed, how do we address transportation
issues on a local level?
January 12 – A new concept for education in
Central Pennsylvania. Steve Connolley will present a new proposal for using
existing educational resources in the Valley to provide exciting new opportunities
to students and adults in our area. A panel of speakers will include educators
and officials from around the Valley.
