Concerned Friends.
June 2008
In the last 4 years we have worked hard and expanded the Democratic Party
in Union County by 25%. That is due primarily to the help we have had
from people like you, who have given so much of your time and your money.
We have Democratic candidates for all contested seats this year, which is
unheard of in Union County, and last year we elected 3 Democratic Township
Supervisors for the first time ever.
This year may prove to be the reward of all of our hard work. We stand
a very good chance of electing a Democratic President, Barack Obama, Democratic
Congress with Chris Carney, and we also have very good local Democratic candidates
for the State Houses in Trey Casimir and Steve Connolley.
We would like to work for these candidates in an office
this year with high visibility. The office would be a place to meet
and talk about the campaigns with like-minded people, obtain yard signs, buttons,
bumper stickers, phone bank, stuff envelopes, and provide the space that
our candidates need to run their campaigns. …. And win. We have
a place in mind. The location is 120 Market St. It’s the place
where Creative Images is now. It has high visibility right on Market
St. and the room to do what we need to do to win this year. To
do that, it takes money. At the very minimum it will cost us about $10,000
to do this. This is money that we don’t have unless we get help from
you.
Now, I know that you are all tired of people asking you
for money and the economy is really terrible right now but this is how we
can change the way business is done in politics. If we can’t contribute
to a cause that will solve the problems of PA and America what are we going
to spend our money on…higher gas prices and more war?
Please, be a part of the solution. Contribute what
you can to the UCDC so that we can have an office that will service us all.
If you can’t afford a large donation, please consider giving say $50.00 a
month for the duration of the election period. Any amount would
help. The truth is we don’t get any money from either the State
Party or the National Party. If we want to do something, it’s up to
us. This appeal is urgent because we have a limited time to commit
to the space. We have to know by July 1st if we will have the money
to do this. Please, be as generous as you can and send your pledges
